General

Never in a rush, Pearl took a full ten years to develop their Decade Maple Series. The goal was to produce an affordable range of fully maple shells that would usually come at a higher price-point. Maple is notorious for lending drums a distinctly round and warm sound framed by excellent tonal balance across the highs, mids, and lows. The 14 inch diameter and 5.5 inch deep shell of the DMP1455 snare comes finished in a nice and neutral matte black and fitted with chrome-plated hardware.

Rich Sound

Six plies of wood have been glued and bound to build a 5.4mm-thick shell wall, and to ensure that the full sonic character of the maple is able to come through, the hardware is firmly up-to-date. The most striking feature is the Triple Flanged tension hoops that have been mounted by set of sixteen rods and eight ultra-slim lugs to allow maximum resonance, while a set of Remo drumheads come pre-installed so you can set it up immediately. Great for beginners, this snare would also serve as a solid backup snare for more experienced drummers and percussionists.
